July

The month of the golden moon. A month of spontaneous road trips, of celebration and contemplation and prayer. Of windy walks and silently scorching days, of baby deer hiding in the shade. A month of longing for wisdom. I will cling to the Lover of my soul. Of scampering squirrels and patches of weeds starred through with blue wildflowers. A month of dusky drives on winding mountain roads and evenings of hushed holiness. May the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us. Of falling deeper in love with this Savior of ours, who is ‘gentle and tender and true.’ A month of raspberry smoothies and blueberry patches and a sky so blue you could almost taste it. Of consolation and the promise that our hearts will one day be restored. He is so good to us. God of Jacob, be my strength. We are safe in the everlasting arms.

He will feed His flock like a shepherd;

He will gather the lambs with His arm,

And carry them in His bosom,

And gently lead those who are with young.” – Isaiah 40:11
